Great multiple sclerosis therapies
There are many Great multiple sclerosis therapies. All of these therapies claim to have the capacity to cure MS. Some of these therapies have clinical researches to prove their claims while others only have celebrity endorsers and many TV commercials to convince people. To date, most therapies for MS are designed to slow down the progression of the disease. Other treatment modalities are also designed to help relieve the various symptoms of this disease. However, a specific treatment to cure multiple sclerosis completely is not yet available. This is the reason why MS patients undergo therapies that will help ease the symptoms that they often experience.
One such symptom of MS is fatigue. MS patients get tired easily. They get very tired to the point that they are unable to do their daily tasks. This is also another reason why many MS patients refuse to exercise. They avoid exercising because they believe that this can make their fatigue worse. Unfortunately, if they do not exercise or move around, their muscles will waste away faster and this does nothing to healing ms.
Eventhough MS is a degenerative disease; this does not mean that patients with MS should stop doing their daily activities. In fact, they are still encouraged to go on their daily lives. However, there are already certain limitations that they must adhere to in order to keep their condition under control.
Since fatigue is the most common symptom, here are some ways on how a MS patient can manage fatigue.
- Allot a specific time of the day for some relaxation activities. For example, at 3pm you will spend 20 minutes meditating or you can spend an hour doing a different relaxation activity. Taking some time off from your daily activities to relax can help prevent fatigue from settling in.
- Know your limits. You must understand that there are already restrictions in the things that you can do. In other words, you must avoid pushing your limits when doing activities or when exercising. If you do so, you might end up being too tired at the end of the day. Moreover, while you are tackling some activity you must keep an eye for any signs of fatigue. When you notice any of these signs, take a break and relax.
- Practice pacing. Rushing to accomplish a task often requires a lot of energy. This is something you should avoid. Instead, use pacing. In this way, you get to accomplish all your tasks without going down with fatigue.
- Do not forget to relax often during the day. Keep in mind that you have very limited energy. Therefore, it is best that you rest more often in order to recharge. When you do this, you will have enough energy to last you all throughout the day.
- When there are too many things for you to do, do not try to do it all. Instead, ask for some assistance. Better yet, delegate some of the tasks to the people around you. This will take off some of the load and you will be able to conserve some of your energy.
Spasticity may limit your movements and may even contribute with your fatigue because it makes moving harder. Nonetheless, there is a ms spasticity treatment to relieve this symptom.
